What we collect, who sees it, and how to control it.

Ohio Startup Network ("OSN", "we") is a nonprofit that connects Ohio founders, partners, investors and resources. Questions about this policy: hello@ohiostartupnetwork.com.
Account details: your name, email and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider). Listing details: the organization name, website, region, industry, summary and, for startups, stage and founders (names and optional LinkedIn links); for investors, investment focus. Activity: recommendations you give resources, intro requests you send or receive, and pilot or offer requests. Forms: anything you submit through event, story, Hot Seat or contact forms, and your email if you join our newsletter.
Anyone can see a limited public preview of approved startup listings: company name, industry, region, summary and website. Signed-in members can also see founder names and LinkedIn links. Startup stage is visible only to OSN-verified investors and OSN administrators. Revenue, if you provide it at registration, is visible only to you and OSN administrators. When you request an intro, your name, organization and email are shared with the recipient. We never sell your data.
To make the directory useful, OSN may list a startup using its company name, website, region and a short public description, drawn from information founders previously shared with OSN or published on their own sites. These listings show no founder names, emails or LinkedIn profiles. Founders can claim a listing to edit it, or ask us to correct or remove it at any time by emailing hello@ohiostartupnetwork.com.
To run the directory and member features, review listings, send account and service messages, and, only if you opt in, send OSN updates and event announcements. You can turn updates off any time in Account settings.
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery), ActiveCampaign (newsletter and member email lists), and Luma and Meetup (events). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
We use your browser's local storage for your sign-in session and display preferences such as light/dark theme and list or tile view. We do not run advertising trackers. We use cookie-free, privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics, and possibly Plausible) to count page views; they do not track you across sites.
You can edit or delete your listing and change your password or email preferences in My listing and Account. You can delete your account and its associated data from Account settings at any time. To ask for a copy of your data or for anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
We keep account data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account, except where we must keep records by law. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to non-public fields is enforced in the database.
OSN is for adults and is not directed to children under 16.
